Constructing Winning Policy Proposals to Government

An important phase in many advocacy campaigns is the point at which there is a requirement – or an opportunity – to set out in some detail what you want government to do, by way of proposed legislative, policy or regulatory changes, or perhaps the introduction of new program measures or tax provisions. The skill with which advocates can frame their proposals - and back them with a persuasive rationale that resonates with government  -  can be a significant factor in a positive outcome. Using established government formats, analytical frameworks and templates, and drawing upon insights and expertise gained from well more than one hundred successful major submissions spanning the full range of public issues, this workshop helps participants understand how their proposition can best be set out for consideration by government policy formulators, advisors and decision makers.
