Creating an Effective Communications Strategy in One Month

“Create an effective communications strategy in one month” is a hands-on, four-week course that teaches participants the rationale for, approaches to, and the core elements of strategic communications planning. During this course, participants will hone research, consultation and analytical skills needed to identify key audiences, articulate key messages, and choose the right communications tactics and tools. At the end of the course, they will have a written communications strategy for their organization, group or cause.
This course is designed for people working in NGO’s and other organizations who need to deliver, supervise or procure communications planning services for their organization.
During each week of the course, participants will:
- Take part in a scheduled 90-minute interactive online webinar;
- Undertake, between webinars, practical research and analysis to prepare their strategy document;
- Be provided with planning templates and checklists and other tools to guide their work, and
- Have access to the instructor for up to 30-minutes weekly for one-on-one consultations.
At the end of this course, participants will understand approaches needed to develop a communication strategy, developed skills needed to do this, and drafted the core elements of an actionable strategy for their own organization.
